Ensemble Weather Forecasts - Update

Since our initial ensemble forecasts were utilised by a select number of clients early in 2010, OWS has further developed its suite of global and regional models utilised in its multi model ensemble forecasts. OWS ensemble products are now based on wind and wave model output derived from five distinct global atmospheric models, including the new ACCESS model developed by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. In selected areas, OWS also now includes a sixth model, the WRF model run in house at OWS.

Additional, since August 2010, all offshore weather forecasts provided to clients by Offshore Weather Services utilise our ensemble products.
